Getting started with [Reverse Engineered Object]

For this reverse Engineered Object project that's coming up, I choose to doing something from my study desk. Those are the stuffs that easy to get, easy to break and easy to put back together. The selections are a ball-point pen, a white-out and a portable water colour palette. The Ball Point Pen I have been using this pen for so long. It is so well designed and easy to use that makes me always bring it with me. I really hope I can study from how the company designed this pen and recreate it. The advantage of selecting this object is that the pen itself is clear, I can see the structure inside and makes it easy for me to understand, However, it is also very delicate and some parts are locked inside the pen which makes it very hard to measure in the future. (Hard but I don't think is not achievable?) Papercraft Objects: First Prototype

  This week, we got into the stage of first prototype.  So for my piece, I stated with printing the blue print of my paper 3d object. I put notes on each of them so I know which part of the object I am making. Also help me to think what is the easiest way to put them together since my piece is a complete close object. So it would be hard to stick all surface together when I close to the end. There are 10 pages in total, and I made some minor mistakes, but that's the problem that I can fix on my final piece. Next, I cut them all up and separated according to the colour that I gave them in Rhino. Which are yellow, blue and white. I am going to put together white and blue first since they are the main structure of the piece. And the yellow part represents the corners. I start to put some of the part together because I am way too excited so I want to see how is it going to turn out. Refine_MeshMaker

During the in class breakout critique, I received a lot of developmental advise from our classmates. It is very interesting to get know what kind of presentation are my works showing. Among all of my works, the 6th one, which is the combination of tooth brush and mushrooms got the most critique and positive suggestions. Therefore, I decide to refine this one for this project. The idea of this piece of my work is to suggest how important to brush our teeth. If you don’t care about it. The destination can be brushing mushroom out of your mouth. Lots of my peers indicated that to present my idea clearly, I need to emphasize the disgusting effect after ignoring dental health. Therefore, I specified the mushrooms by giving them patterns so they look toxic and drawing mycelia so they look gross. Also, I got the reflection that the brush didn’t look accurate.
