PaperCraft: The Final

Ha! Finally! I finished this project!

Okay! First thing first, the photos---

(some rendered pictures)

The final 3D paper model turn out great in my opinion. Since I am doing a Chinese knot for the project, of cause I choose the colour red for the main colour. At the same time, on the critique, we mentioned adding a 2d element on the model. And then I thought about a dragon pattern.

I also document my process together. Not only because I think they are neat, but also it help me to go back to check my notes. I have a version on normal letter paper for me to take notes and photocopy, and a version on the card-stock just for cutting.

Since it is 2d, just to help me visualize, I hand drew those on paper. For the start, I am not sure how is it going to turn out, so I cut out the shape on white card-stock and tried on my prototype that on last post.

To be honest, most of the reason that I decide to do the dragen is it looks better than I imagine on the model. Even though, I made a mistake on the prototype, that I put the head of the dragon in the opposite direction. But I fixed that on the final. Haha.

Here are some time lapse video of me making this assignment. They are in the link:
