The project of this week is creating art pieces that are significant from our life by using Rhino. Unfortunately, I totally underestimated how complex the object that I want to create, so I don't have enough time to finish it all. The only piece that came out perfect is a Chinese knot. Chinese knots are usually made to represent special meanings. The knot that I create means Auspicious. I came to Canada three years ago, and never had a chance to go back since then because of COVID. The Chinese knots means a lot to me. One of the reasons is our family always make knots during Chinese New Year for good luck. However, I never pay attention to how to make them. But today, I have a chance to build it digitally. In this piece, I use double layers to show it is a knot instead a flat structure. At this point of time, for OBDF110 class, we are starting a new project about Paper-craft. Paper as one of the most common things in life, we can almost use it to do anything, such as writing, wiping and modelling. Today, we are on the research stage stage of this project, which as student, I took a look of many wonderful craft that made from paper by many great artists. The art craft is the wet fold origami technique paper animals by the Artist Hoang Tien Quyet. Some of her amazing work below: (all picture from https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/05/wet-fold-origami/) In my opinion, the art works show a bit more realistic than old style origami because some of the organic shapes. Think about it, the origamis we learned in kindergarten were all made from multiple genomic shapes. And for most animals in real life, their bodies always have curve. Therefore, the organic shapes create a sense of real life fro those origamis. In Hoang Tien Quyet's own website ( https://htquyet.origami.v

Among all of my works, the 6th one, which is the combination of tooth brush and mushrooms got the most critique and positive suggestions. Therefore, I decide to refine this one for this project. The idea of this piece of my work is to suggest how important to brush our teeth. If you don’t care about it. The destination can be brushing mushroom out of your mouth. Lots of my peers indicated that to present my idea clearly, I need to emphasize the disgusting effect after ignoring dental health. Therefore, I specified the mushrooms by giving them patterns so they look toxic and drawing mycelia so they look gross. Also, I got the reflection that the brush didn’t look accurate. I think that is because there were a piece of rectangle on top of brush before. So I took it off and added more variations on the handl
